An access log features a record of all files which have been requested by the visitors while surfing around your Internet site. The list is detailed, so if you have a web page with 2 embedded images, for example, all of the three files will be in the log, not just the page. An access log usually contains the date, the OS, the Internet browser and the IP address for each and every file in human-readable form, so you can get an idea about the hottest files on your Internet site. The log, that's also typically named "raw data", is an addition to the web stats which you commonly get with a hosting account, not a substitute. An illustration why you may require this sort of a log is if you wish to use some software on your PC to prepare a report about the website’s overall performance, but you do not want to use the standard graphs and tables that come with the server-generated website stats.
Access Log Manager in Shared Website Hosting
Our custom Hepsia CP includes a section dedicated to various logs and the access logs are among them. Once you sign in to your shared website hosting account and go to this section, you'll find a list of all the domain names and subdomains that you have. All it takes to allow the generation of access logs is to press a button that'll be available next to every domain/subdomain. When the option is enabled, you shall see a download link together with the file size so far, so you will be able to save the file to your PC and examine it or process it with some program. Enabling or disabling the logs takes effect right away, so if you don't need one, you can stop it with a click from the very same section of the CP. You'll still be able to access the already developed content by simply clicking the Download link.
Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Servers
Our state-of-the-art hosting platform will create access logs for any site hosted within a semi-dedicated server account, assuming that this function is enabled. All domain names and subdomains that you have will be listed within the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia CP, which we offer with all the accounts, so if you would like our system to start producing logs for each of them, you should simply click on the small button on the right side of the respective domain/subdomain and switch the default Off option to On. You could stop this function at any time by following the exact same steps. You can find a Download link for each log within the same section of the Control Panel, so you can easily save the content generated by our system in .txt format with just a mouse click. An existing log file may be downloaded even after the function has been disabled, so you will still be able to check out the data which has already been generated.
